Exploring Holy Island and Lindisfarne Priory. 

There are few places in the UK that feel truly cut off from the modern world. The Holy Island of Lindisfarne, just off the dramatic coast of Northumberland, is one of them.

 The island is connected to the mainland by a causeway, which gets completely flooded by the North Sea twice a day, always check the tide times if you planning a visit. 

Our drive across to the island on arrival took about 9 minutes but the drive back to the mainland as we left the island took about 14 minutes due to amount of cars crossing so give yourself plenty of time within the tide timetables.
